This Week at EDA 14.08.23

Welcome to a new week of training here at CrossFit EDA Glasgow. 

Happy Monday Everyday Athletes 🙌

And welcome to another epic week of training! 

Let’s start today's post with a shout-out to our incredible Muay Thai team. Aaron and Michael you put on an incredible show at Saturday's fight show and your coaches couldn’t be more proud 🙌

And to all those who braved the rain on Saturday for our bbq, we hope you loved the food as much as we did! 

This week we will be hitting some of your faves so let’s jump into it! 

Monday- 
We are jumping straight into week 6 of our Oly lifting cycle! 

We will be hitting split jerk today, rocking the percentage from your clean and jerk one rep max 🙌

As always if maths isn’t your strong point, ask a coach to help with the numbers. That’s what we are here for! 

Tuesday
Let’s keep the theme rolling as we start our Tuesday off with squat cleans.

We will be rocking singles today, aiming for that 95%, so let’s make sure we are well rested, well fuelled, and ready to absolutely smash it 🙌

We will then move on to two rounds of a spicy little 5-minute AMRAP, featuring those squat cleans and double unders. 

It’s gonna be sweaty! 

Wednesday
Let’s move on to a little bit of gymnastics, what’s a week at CrossFit EDA without some gymnastics skill work? 

Today we will be rocking rope climbs 🙌

Mixing it up with some easy-paced bike caps as we warm up. 

Following that, we will be hitting our first named workout of the week. Everyday Athletes, meet Kilimanjaro. A challenging for-time workout combining goblet lunges, dumbbell burpee box stepovers, and rope climbs! 

Again guys it’s gonna be a fun day, but a tough day. Make sure you’re hydrated, well fed, and most importantly that you’ve had a decent night's sleep. 

We can’t stress the importance of good sleep, for better workouts. 

Thursday 
We like to mix it up so be prepared for a weekday partner workout 🙌

Following the incredible efforts of the partners in Saturday's session we’ve programmed a 4-set partner AMRAP. 

We’re gonna be hitting the block run, rocking front rack holds, straight into max sit ups whilst your partner is running. 

But that’s not all… 

We’ve got some post-fitness strength! 

Take these back squats as a primer for Friday's session. Cause this is gonna be a big one! 

Friday 
It’s squat snatch Friday 🙌

We are hitting singles, and we are hitting big numbers team! 

We will then rock some fitness with a spicy for-time workout, get ready for 60 wall balls, 40 box jumps, and 20 power snatches. 

You’ve got it! And you’re gonna smash it! 

Saturday
It’s all about the fitness. 

There’s only one place to start your weekend right and that’s here with us at Everyday Athlete Gym, Glasgow. 

We’ve got an AMRAP, we’ve got a for time workout, and we’ve got a partner workout 🙌

It’s gonna be mega! 

Sunday 
We are open as always, giving you some time to build some extra muscle in the pain cave or catch up on a session you missed this week. 

If you’re looking for something a bit different we also program a session every Sunday if you want to give it a go instead! 

We’ve got Muay Thai running every night this week for all aspiring fighters, or fitness fanatics alike. 

Come and train with your pals and learn a new skill. Honestly this week, we’ve got something for everyone so make sure to book your classes or pop in to find out more.
