WHO WE ARE

We are a growing fitness community based conveniently off the M8.

We offer world class coaching in our bespoke fitness facility with free parking all day, everyday.

We are a proud CrossFit affiliate, that helps make functional fitness accessible to all.

Everything we do starts with our incredible members. Every time they come through our doors they know they will have an excellent workout, smash their goals and work towards becoming stronger everyday.

We believe in good programming and good form, over heavy weights or ego lifting. Ready to get started? Find out more about our classes and join our community here.

WHO WE ARE

We were a group of fitness professionals that became a group of friends. We were all working to help people become the best versions of themselves, but without a community and the right environment that was near impossible.

So to make the impossible, possible we built Everyday Athlete Gym. An unpretentious, training facility 10 minutes from the heart of Glasgow.

MEET THE TEAM

COACH PADDY

I have been a fitness and nutrition coach for both high-level athletes and people simply looking to improve their health and fitness for over 16 years. I found my passion for nutrition when competing at a professional level in Muay Thai, a passion that empowered me to win the Scottish Middleweight Title in 2011.

Keen to end the notion that good nutrition has to be a chore and to end the notion that John Valbonesi has the biggest chest at EDA, I clearly do.

COACH TOMMY

I started training Muay Thai when I was 14 years old, little did I know this hobby would turn into a lifetime passion and eventually half of the reason we opened EDA.

I've coached hundreds of both professional athletes and people who just wanted to incorporate the great habits of pro athletes alike, and I'm still blown away each and every time one of my clients surpasses the limitations they've set for themselves.

My formal training means that together we can achieve your goals. My love of celebratory bike cals, kipping pull-ups and thrusters, mean we are going to have a great time along the way.

COACH VALBO

You may know me as John, JV or Coach Valbo. I have 15 years of experience in the fitness industry, and I have dedicated that time to teaching people that health and fitness are for everyone. Not just the elite or the already fit, but open and accessible to people from every walk of life.

My interests are weightlifting and bodybuilding – and I love a chance to try and beat the coaches in our daily conditioning session. I have an infamous love for burpees, which you can typically find me doing to remixes of Taylor Swift.

COACH MARTIN

I’m as fit as I am handsome, so very.

First fell in love with the world of fitness at 14, when Coach Tommy introduced me to Muay Thai. He supported me in my first fight and got me my first coaching opportunity at 17. After completing four years at college studying sports and coaching, I started working with the team, delivering bootcamps, then in 2016 helped them officially open EDA.

Seeing people’s self-worth and confidence grow has been an absolute joy. There is nothing quite like the feeling of seeing someone get their first muscle-up, hit a PB, or try a sparring class for the first time.

COACH MITCHIE

Like half the team, it was Coach Tommy that introduced me to Muay Thai when I was at uni. Upon completion of my degree, I began working off-shore. The gym facilities on the boats were lacking, and it was during this time I realised that I needed fitness to decompress, manage my stress and help me be the best version of myself.

When I decided it was time for a career change it was clear that I wanted to help people experience the improvements fitness can bring to your life, both physically and mentally. I have my Level Three Personal Training Qualification, I'm qualified to teach classical pilates, Yin Yoga and have achieved my Crossfit Level One qualification. I am currently accepting new clients, so drop me a message with any enquiries.

COACH SPENCER

Names Spencer, Spencer Brown. I’m a professional Muay Thai fighter and hold 2 European Championship. I like long walks in the park during which I reflect on my CrossFit qualification and “big muscles.”

I competed professionally around the world whilst living and training in Bangkok, Thailand. I first began training at EDA in 2017 and I’ve known Coach Tommy for many years through the Muay Thai scene, and as they say the rest is history.

I’m currently accepting both Muay Thai and Strength and Conditioning PT’s. Whatever your goals, we can move forward together.

COACH SHANE

I was introduced to EDA as I attended Coach Tommy and Coach Martins Glasgow Uni Muay Thai clasess. After my undergrad, I worked with the First Team at Celtic Football Club as a sports scientist, completing research for my Master's degree. After finishing at Celtic, I started to work “with the boys” and it has been a constant joy!

I really enjoyment training the everyday athletes, and love seeing how insanely fast they progress. As a self-proclaimed physiology nerd, I’m currently studying a Doctorate in Physiotherapy. I specialise in training people with ongoing injuries/poor mobility and people training for specific events.

Qualifications: BSc (Hons), Physiology and Sports Science, MSc (Research), Sports Science, CrossFit®️ Level 1, Certified Nutritionist (Pn1), Level 3 Personal Trainer
