This Week at EDA 26.06.23

Welcome to a new week of training here at CrossFit EDA Glasgow. 

Happy Monday Everyday Athletes 🙌

Exciting things going down this week and we aren’t just talking about the continuation of our mini comp (which you are all crushing btw), some exceptionally well-planned workouts but also the new drop of our latest merch.

For those in the gym, you can grab the new range at reception, or for those who can’t just pop in we have orders live on the website now.

Now we can’t make outlandish claims that these will make you pb but what we can say is they are guaranteed to make your next pump look exceptional 🙌

Now with all that said, let’s look ahead to what this week's training could look like for you:

Monday -

It’s all about conditioning! We will jump straight from our warmup into a challenging 8-round, for time workout.

Featuring some coach's favourites with everything from the rower and back rack lunges, to sit-ups and rope climbs. It’s gonna be a fun one!

Tuesday -

Tuesday's training brings our attention back to some skill work. We’re going to be working on our Kip swings with the goal of hitting a muscle up, don’t worry we will have options available to those still working their way up to this challenging skill.

We will then be moving on to a named workout, “University of Colorado Shoulders” Unlike further education this gym doesn’t require any sparkling report card to gain entry, just a good attitude and a lil sprinkle of determination.

Wednesday-

So you’ve done some conditioning, and worked on a skill, who’s ready for a strength day?

It’s a crowd-pleaser, it’s deadlift day. Also because we like to throw a challenge at you, pack your runners.

Thursday -

IT'S COMP DAY 🙌🙌

Okay so the coaches tested this one on Friday, and let’s just say it’s a bit sweaty. We’ve got 28, 26, 16, and 10 reps for time on-

Box jump overs

Pull-ups

And alternating dumbbell snatches.

For those of you feeling extra competitive we recommend chatting to coach Martin about how to increase the pace of your box jump overs, he’s got the technique down and get help you save some seconds!

Part 2 of the comp will see you work up to a heavy barbell complex.

Friday-

Look, we know that’s a tough week of training so Friday's session is designed to help you get a sweat on but more importantly, recover.

Saturday -

To finish the week on a high, we’ve got bench. The personal fave of Coach Valbo. To make it even more special between sets we will be rocking some gun curls 💪

On Sunday we’ll give you a chance to catch up on any sessions you’ve missed or just to use the open gym as an opportunity to get some extra fitness in 🙌

Muay Thai is running every night this week as always, so for those looking to get a real good sweat on this one’s for you.

These classes cater to everyone from pro fighters, to complete beginners. We all start somewhere and this could be your sign to try something new!
