This Week at EDA 03.07.23

Welcome to a new week of training here at CrossFit EDA Glasgow. 

Happy Monday Everyday Athletes, and welcome to another wonderful week of training at EDA Glasgow!

Like always, we've got a packed week of CrossFit workouts, challenging strength sessions, and sweaty Muay Thai classes scheduled. All designed to help you become the strongest, fittest, and most resilient version of yourself possible.

As we move through the week we will be hitting the third and final workout of our mini comp. You guys have been absolutely crushing it, and we know you are going to finish on a high you always do!

So with that brief introduction covered, let's take a quick look at this week's training.

Monday-
Let's start the week strong with a barbell complex.

We will be rocking 8 sets of deadlifts, into a pausing power clean, finishing on a hang power clean. You should know by now that we believe there is no such thing as too much fitness so we will then head into 2 sets of an 8-minute AMRAP of power cleans, double unders, hang power cleans, and box jumps.

Tuesday-
It's leg day! But don't worry, we are going to ease into this session with a nice long warm-up, getting our body and mind ready to tackle overhead squats.

We'll be working up to a heavy rep, don't worry if your shoulders aren't too keen on overhead squats, you can sub in front squats for this session.

Wednesday-
Today is all about conditioning. We will be hitting a 16-minute EMOM of bike cals, slam balls, and plank hold. It's going to be a sweaty one, but who can think of a better way to shake off the mid-week blues?

Thursday-
It's comp day!

Fuel up, this session will be challenging. We will be starting the session with thrusters, working up to three heavy reps. After our thrusters, we move onto the real deal!

This workout is a 3-round, for time workout, featuring:

21 thrusters

15 up-down over the bar.

Our coaches tested this one on Friday, and we aren't gonna lie it's tricky! But you've got this!

Friday -
On Friday we will be hitting our first named workout of the week! The "Devil on my Shoulders", is another for-time workout of burpees, muscle ups, and everyones favourite... MORE BURPEES.

It's gonna be spicy!

Saturday -
We always like to leave something to the imagination, so we will keep this one a secret for now. Just know you can bring a pal as we will have a partner option for those looking for some emotional support after what has been an incredible week of fitness!

On Sunday we’ll give you a chance to catch up on any sessions you’ve missed or just to use the open gym as an opportunity to get some extra fitness in 🙌

Muay Thai is running every night this week as always, so for those looking to get a real good sweat on this one’s for you.

These classes cater to everyone from pro fighters, to complete beginners. We all start somewhere and this could be your sign to try something new!
